UP Police says Vikas Dubey was asked to surrender but he opened fire at cops

The Uttar Pradesh police today issued clarification, moments after gangster Vikas Dubey, the man responsible for murder of 8 cops, was shot dead in an encounter. According to the police, Dubey tried to escape after the vehicle carrying him met an accident, and snatched a cop's gun to open fire. Kanpur police said the gangster was asked to surrender but he refused.
