US blacklists retired Pakistani police officer for serious human rights violations

A retired Pakistani police officer, Rao Anwar Ahmed Khan has been blacklisted by the US, for his involvement in serious human rights violations. Anwar was an encounter specialist, who served as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Malir district of Pakistan and is accused of extrajudicial killings. "During his tenure as the SSP in Malir, Anwar was reportedly responsible for staging numerous fake police encounters," US dept said.
