US promises to donate 500 million Covid vaccine doses to other countries

The Joe Biden-led US government has decided to donate over 500 million Covid-19 vaccine doses to other countries. "To beat the pandemic here we need to beat it everywhere," Biden said in White House during a four-hour virtual summit aimed at boosting global vaccination rates. The summit was attended by leaders from Canada, Indonesia, South Africa and Britain. Poorer countries need 5 to 6 billion doses to fight the pandemic.
