Uttar Pradesh state law commission releases population control draft, seeks suggestions from public

The Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission has unveiled the first draft of the bill aimed at population control. The law commission has also invited public opinion by July 19 before the bill is tabled. Under the proposed bill, those with two children or less are likely to receive incentives. Similarly, there will be disincentives for those not adhering to the two-child norm. The act will be named the Uttar Pradesh population Act, 2021.
