Water quality of Goa's Mandovi river improved significantly during lockdown, shows study

A study by the National Institute of Oceanography has revealed that the water quality of Mandovi river in Goa improved significantly during the lockdown imposed in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The concentration of dissolved nutrients recorded in 2020 was found to be less than previous years. As per the study, the midstream sections of the river had lower proportions of coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM).
