WHO report says India recorded largest reduction in malaria cases in South-East Asia in last decade

According to the World Health Organisation, India recorded the largest reduction in Malaria cases in South-East Asia between 2000 and 2019. The cases of malaria dropped from 20 million in 2000 to about 5.6 million in 2019. According to the World Malaria Report 2020, 229 million cases of malaria were reported globally in 2019. 409,000people lost their lives in 2019 due to the disease in comparison to 411,000 deaths in 2018.
