Japan's Abe emerged as winner in Party leadership election

Thursday, 63-years-old Prime Minister Shinzo Abe won re-election for his party and with that, he will become Japan's longest serving Prime Minister while realizing his dream of reforming the constitution. He secured 553 votes out of 810 votes that were up for grabs, while his opponent former defence minister Shigeru Ishiba could secure only 254 member votes for the leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party.
