24-hour shops to be reality in Ahmedabad, working hours limited to 9

The legislative bill was proposed to amend the Shops & Establishment Act & to allow shops across Gujarat to function 24 hours was made effective on the foundation day of Gujarat. Gujarat is probably the 1st state in India to implement such a law. Deputy CM Nitin Patel said implementing the bill will allow various shops to function 24 hours and will generate more employment opportunities for youth.
