5.56 lakh people face tax probe
In the 2nd phase of Operation Clean Money, the Income Tax Department identified cash transactions of 5.56 lakh more taxpayers in the demonetization window didn't match with their income profiles. All identified persons are being informed through email and SMS for submitting their response online. In the 1st phase of Operation Clean Money launched on January 31, 17.92 lakh persons had been identified for e- verification of large cash deposits.
