61 lawmakers killed in Philippines since Duterte became president

The incidents of political killings have increased in the Philippines since Rodrigo Duterte assumed power as the President of the country. According to the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG), as many as 61 lawmakers got killed during Duterte's term since 2016. This was way higher than the killings of 28 lawmakers from 1972 to 2016, the period when the archipelagic country saw six different presidents.
