Amid the ongoing Australia-US nuclear-powered submarine deal row, Australia's Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said his country does not need to prove affinity for France. Joyce said Australia has already proven its affection for France through the sacrifice of Aussie soldiers during World War I and II. "We have tens of thousands of Australians who have either died on French soil or died protecting French soil," he added.
