Sources have confirmed that US President Joe Biden is set to nominate academic Amy Gutmann as US ambassador to Germany. US aims to mend ties with Germany that deteriorated during the Trump regime. 71-year-old Gutmann is currently president of the University of Pennsylvania and she would be the first woman to serve in the role. She would replace interim appointee Robin Quinville if her appointment is confirmed.
