With 66 lakh tweets about #AssemblyElections2018, the most Tweeted about Indian state elections ever saw a rise of local language content and emergence of 'rural economy' as the most talked about election-related topic over the past nine weeks. Politicians and political parties used Twitter to communicate with people all over India, tweeting about official positions, policy announcements and key social issues.
