It is very important to exercise the right to vote, and in this aspect, India can definitely learn a thing or two from Australia. Australian Electoral Commission has made voting compulsory, and in case anyone fails to do that without any valid reason, they will be charged $20 for the first time offense and the figure can go up to $180 for repeated offenders.
