Beijing would find it "deeply destabilizing": US Spy Chief on Washington defending Taiwan against Chinese invasion

Avril Haines, the Director of National Intelligence, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that China would find this deeply destabilizing if US comes to Taiwan's defence in case of a Chinese invasion. "I think it would solidify Chinese perceptions that the US is bent on constraining China`s rise, including through military force, and would probably cause Beijing to aggressively undermine US interests worldwide," she said.
