BJP cadres hurl slipper at state finance minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, five arrested

A group of BJP cadres blocked the official car of Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan in his home town Madurai and hurled a slipper at his vehicle following an altercation at the airport in the temple town. Rajan has been a vocal critic of the Central Government’s politics and has often countered Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on policy matters, especially those relating to GST rates, GST compensation and taxes.
