Ministers said that everyone who applies on time will have their existing rights maintained while their case is heard. But many vulnerable individuals face a loss of access to public services, and the deadline should be extended. As a result of the conditions of Britain's exit from the European Union, EU nationals and their families living and working in the UK no longer citizen rights, as freedom of movement has ended.
