Chief Justice's Office brought under RTI Act, rules Supreme Court

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has brought the chief justice of India (CJI) office under the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi pronounced the verdict today on petitions challenging the Delhi High Court decision bringing the office of the CJI under the ambit of the RTI Act. Nobody wants a "system of opaqueness", said the bench.
