Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi's outrage over crowd management due to BJP chief Amit Shah and CM Sarbananda Sonowal's visit to Assam's Kamakhya temple on Durga Ashtami Puja has led to suspension of additional deputy commissioner Pulak Mahanta for misbehaviour and Deputy Commissioner Bhanwar Lal Meena and an additional deputy commissioner, Prasanta Pratim Kathkotiya for lapses in security arrangements.
