Court orders arrest & detention of ex-Maldives prez over money laundering charges

A Maldives court on Monday has ordered the arrest and detention of the former president of the nation, Abdulla Yameen over the money laundering charges. The court has agreed to a prosecution appeal to detain Yameen who was charged with laundering nearly $1.5 million in the previous week, just before he lost his re-election bid in September. He appeared in the criminal court over the charges today.
