Create a 'red phone' to China for emergencies, says Biden administration

The Biden administration is looking into the idea of establishing an emergency hotline with the Chinese government, akin to the "red phone" established during the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union. Because of the problems with the present system, as well as China's more aggressive military, US national security officials are increasingly concerned about the possibility of misunderstandings with China.
