The polished image of Israel as a plucky 'Startup Nation' took a hit with new accusations that Israeli-founded technology, Pegasus software from the firm NSO, has once again been utilized by governments around the world to allegedly hack the phones of human rights activists, journalists, and others. However, NSO and its supporters claim that the program is exclusively intended to catch terrorists and other criminals.
