EC sought details on NaMo TV, I&B ministry calls it an advertising platform

After the Model Code of Conduct came into effect, PM Modi launched his 'NaMo TV' channel without govt's permission ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The opposition approached the Election Commission against the channel after which the EC sought a report on it. In its reply, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that it is an advertising platform and that the party is just incurring cost on ads.
