Electoral bonds worth Rs 5,851 crore bought, of which 80% redeemed in Delhi: RTI

An MP-based RTI activist Chandrashekhar Goud shared the information provided by SBI in response to his queries - the electoral bonds worth Rs 5851 crore were bought by donors to fund political parties between March 2018 and May 2019. Out of which, 80% were redeemed in Delhi, wherein the headquarters of major political parties are located. Electoral bonds worth Rs 1782.36 crore were bought in Mumbai, but only 7% were redeemed.
