Erdogan removes Turkey's central bank governor for third time in less than two years

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sacked Naci Agbal, the country’s central bank governor. This was for the third time that the country's central bank's governor was removed in less than 2 years. Naci was appointed in November. As per the decree published in the Official Gazette, Agbal has been replaced by Sahap Kavcioglu. Kavcioglu, the new governor of the central bank, teaches banking at Marmara University in Istanbul.
