European Union state aids rules will soon be replaced by UK laws

New legislation to replace EU standards; will give the government and local governments more leeway in supporting enterprises. The Subsidy Control Bill would replace EU-wide state aid laws that obtain member authorisation before government support to companies. The new guidelines will allow the Govt. to provide grants or loans to businesses more quickly. It's been termed "the most significant piece of post-Brexit legislation yet."
