Farooq Abdulla's sister and daughter detained during protest in Srinagar

Amid the ongoing protest against the lockdown in Kashmir that was joined by several prominent women activists, the Police has arrested the sister and the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. Abdullah's sister Suraiya Abdullah and his daughter Safia Abdullah were a part of the all-women protest. "On August 5, Article 370 was abrogated. This is a marriage by compulsion which won't work," said Suraiya.
