For the First Time, EC call upon Article 324, prohibits campaigning in West Bengal

In the wake of the violence between BJP & TMC workers in Kolkatta, the EC has invoked article 324 to end campaigning in 9 W.Bengal constituencies a day before its scheduled deadline. This is the 1st time EC has invoked article 324 in this manner as it's deeply hurt at the vandalism done to the statue of Vidyasagar. The 9 LS seats are Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jayanagar, Mathurapur, Jadavpur, Diamond Harbour, S & N Kolkatta.
