France recalls ambassadors to US, Australia after cancellation of submarine deal

France was clearly left upset after Australia scrapped the submarine deal with Paris to procure nuclear-powered submarines from US and UK instead. After accusing Washington of backstabbing, France has recalled its ambassador to Australia and US. This exceptional decision is justified by the exceptional seriousness of the announcements made on September 15 by Australia and the United States," said Jean-Yves Le Drian.
