French govt halts fuel tax rise amid protest

After a violent protest, that lasted for 3 weeks, the French government has decided to halt the rise in fuel taxes. The French PM Édouard Philippe was due to meet the cabinet members to discuss the issue on Tuesday. Government's decision to increase the tax on petrol and diesel led to the anger of the citizens. The protest forced the PM to rethink about the decision he made. On Monday, he even arranged emergency meeting.
