Government spent Rs. 271 CR on maternity schemes
The government has spent Rs. 271.66 crore to provide maternity benefits to 11 lakh of 22 lakh enlisted women so far. The scheme was launched in January 2017 and aims to provide compensation for loss of pay in cash to women so they may be able to take care of their baby. Rs. 2048 crore has been distributed to all states and UTs. Under this scheme, each woman is eligible for a total of Rs. 6000 in benefits.
