Govt went Rs 99,610 crore beyond the approved expenditure: CAG report

Union government has exceeded the approved expenditure by Rs 99,610 cr in the 2017-18 Financial Year, according to a CAG report. This is a violation of democracy and the report revealed the failure of accounting authorities from the highest levels. The report added that in 2017-18, the entire cash supplementary remained unused and in many cases funds have been spent without the approval of the parliament.
