Govt won't protect Jio against Rcom's past liabilities

Reliance Jio is facing a setback as govt has refused to provide immunity to Jio from its past payment liabilities. A telecom dept official has said that the corporate guarantee that Rcom is providing is not sufficient for the government to provide it any kind of immunity. Rcom is debt-laden and is unable to procure a bank guarantee, hence govt is declining to give it any special permission as it is about public money.
