Gyanvapi Masjid Committee moves to Allahabad High Court, seeks stay on ASI survey

The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, the management committee of the Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, has filed an urgent petition before the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the April 8 judgment of a local court in Varanasi, allowing an archaeological survey of the entire complex by the ASI. In its petition filed on Monday, the management committee has said that the order was passed illegally.
