Hasmukh Adhia Appointed As New Finance Secretary

The Department of Personnel and Training announced that Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia had been appointed as the finance secretary. He will succeed Ashok Lavasa whose term ended on October 31. He is a 1981 batch IAS officer from Gujarat and also played a key role in the implementation of major economic reforms including demonetisation and GST. Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his selection.
