Home Ministry takes U-Turn, admits stone-pelting incident took place in Srinagar

Days after The Ministry of Home Affairs denied report of a large group of protestors gathering in Srinagar’s Soura area, which were pushed back by security personnel at Aiwa bridge using tear gas and pellets, MHA took a U-Turn and now tweeted that there was a stone-pelting incident in Srinagar after afternoon prayers at a local mosque on August 9. Authorities showed restraint in their response and no bullets have been fired.
