Even as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) recorded a landslide victory in the recent West Bengal Assembly elections, CM Mamata Banerjee lost in the Nandigram constituency to her former aide-turned-rival Suvendu Adhikari. However, Banerjee could still retain her CM position. Banerjee will have six months to get elected from any constituency to the 294-seat West Bengal Assembly to retain her position.
