HRD minister claims Indian scriptures first to mention 'gravity', not Newton

Human Resource Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank claimed that it was Indian scriptures which mentioned the concept of gravity long before Issac Newton did. The remarks were made by the HRD minister while appealing to the directors of IITs and NITs to take up more research on ancient Indian science to prove that India was a pioneer in the field. Nishank was speaking at Gyanotsav, an event to discuss the New Education policy.
