India ignores US warnings to enhance defence cooperation with Russia, more weapons procurement on cards

India may not stop procuring weapons from Russia despite warnings by the US. In fact, the countries have decided to enhance the defence cooperation further, a move that may make Washington uncomfortable. The decision to boost the defence cooperation was made after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar. The two discussed manufacturing Russian weapons in India as well.
