Joe Biden holds “broad, strategic discussion” over phone with Xi Jinping

Nearly seven months after coming into power, US President Joe Biden talked to Chinese premier Xi Jinping on phone. The White House said it was a “broad, strategic discussion” between the two leaders. “President Biden underscored the United States’ enduring interest in peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific,” the White House said. Jinping conveyed to Biden that the US policy on China has caused ‘serious difficulties’.
