What is Privilege motion?

Congress on Tuesday served a notice of privilege motion against PM Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharama. Parliaments members enjoy certain immunities and when any of these rights and immunities are disregarded, the offence is called as a breach of privilege. Under the law of parliament, this is a punishable offence. The speaker scrutinizes the breach of motion first himself/herself.
