LS Polls 2019: EC bans publishing uncertified political advertisements on poll day & a day pior

The EC banned partied from publishing political ads on the polling day & a day before to it unless their contents are pre-certified by the screening committees. EC had urged govt to amend electoral law in 2016 but now to ensure no untoward incident occurs, used its constitutional powers to take this decision. The poll panel said that in the past there were instances of ads that were of offending & misleading nature.
