Mahendra Nath Pandey to be next UP BJP President

Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey will be appointed as the next Uttar Pradesh BJP President. Pandey replaces Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is Deputy Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh. Pandey is a BJP MP from Chandauli constituency. The appointment of Pandey ( a Brahmin ) by Amit Shah appears to be aimed at strengthening the party's hold over the state's Brahmin population.
