Make in India leads to cancellation of Rs 130 bn tenders
In a bid to promote 'made in India' goods, the government saw cancellation or withdrawal and re-issuance of tenders worth Rs 130 billion. DIPP held the responsibility to promote manufacturing of goods and services in India to increase income and employment in the country after governments order dated June 15, 2017, which states that purchase preference must be given to domestic suppliers in government procurement.
