Mayawati to approach election commission demanding ban on media surveys 6 months ahead of elections

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has said she will approach the Election Commission of India, seeking a ban on pre-poll surveys by media organisations six months before any elections. She argued that such polls influence the elections. She also gave the example of West Bengal assembly polls where Mamata Banerjee was showed to be trailing in surveys conducted by the media.
