Modi government's actions 'inexcusable': Lancet criticizes India's handling of COVID-19

The Indian government must pursue a two-pronged strategy to address the COVID-19 pandemic, including the rationalization and speedy implementation of a "botched vaccination campaign," the medical journal The Lancet said Saturday. In a heavily critical editorial, the journal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be responsible for presiding over a "self-inflicted national catastrophe."
