House Democratic prosecutors argued on the first day of the impeachment trial that former President Donald Trump was the "inciter in chief" of the attack at the US Capitol. "To us it may have felt like chaos and madness, but there was a method to the madness that day," said Representative Jamie Raskin. The lead prosecutor said they had the evidence to show that the former President incited the violence.
