Number of displaced people crossed 70 million globally: UNHCR

The number of people fleeing conflict and war has crossed a staggering 70 million worldwide, the highest number in the UN agency's 70 years of operations. The number has doubled up in the last 20 years, and every day, there are a record of displacement of 37,000 people. According to the UN, the actual number might be higher than the recorded one as the displaced people of Venezuela is only partially reflected in the official data.
