RBI studying case for a cryptocurrency, not comfortable with bitcoin
The Reserve Bank is uncomfortable with “non-fiat” cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin but looking at fiat cryptocurrencies as legal tender, RBI executive director Sudarshan Sen said. Bitcoin has recently come under intense global regulatory scrutiny which seems to be the main reason of discomfort with it and that’s why RBI is warning all about its usage. It is still unclear, at which stage discussion on issue stand.
