S Jaishankar stops at Tehran to meet Iranian counterpart before leaving for Moscow

Nearly a month after reports emerged that Iran was moving forward with the Chabahar project without India, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar landed in Tehran on his way to Moscow for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meet, to meet his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif. A bilateral meeting was held between the two where the emphasis was on “bilateral” and “regional” issues.
